Load in tons
| Container | Load | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 20 ft | 15 tons | Minimum order |
| 40 ft | 27 tons | For larger orders |
A 40 ft container doesn't carry twice the load of a 20 ft one, because the load is set by permitted weight limits, not just by space.
How many cartons fit in a container?
Our export cartons weigh 10 kg, so the calculation is simple:
- 20 ft container15 tons = 1,500 cartons of 10 kg
- 40 ft container27 tons = 2,700 cartons of 10 kg
If you choose bulk packing in 5 or 3 kg cartons, the number of cartons rises proportionally.
How many boxes?
| Box | 20 ft container | 40 ft container |
|---|---|---|
| 1 kg | 15,000 boxes | 27,000 boxes |
| 500 g | 30,000 boxes | 54,000 boxes |
| 250 g | 60,000 boxes | 108,000 boxes |
And how many pieces?
For cube charcoal, a 1 kg box contains 72 pieces in 25 mm, 64 in 26 mm and 56 in 27 mm. That means a 20 ft container of 25 mm cubes holds around 1,080,000 pieces – a figure that helps you estimate how many hookah sessions one container covers in your market.
Which container should you order?
- First order or new market: start with a 20 ft container to test the product and packaging with your customers.
- Repeat orders: a 40 ft container gives you a larger quantity in a single shipment.
- Plan around your sales: estimate your monthly sales and the sea transit time, so you order the next container before your stock runs out.
